Die Arbeit ‘PROPOSAL FOR A WRAPPED AZADI TOWER’ besteht aus einen visualisierten Vorschlag zur Verhüllung des Azadi Turmes in Tehran und einem Brief, der das Projekt schriftlich konkretisiert. Das Gesuch, das an das iranische 'Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance' gesendet wurde, als ein Projektvorschlag für Kunst im öffentlichen Raum in Tehran, verweist unausgesprochen, jedoch augenfällig auf Verhüllungsaktionen des Künstlerpaares Christo und Jeanne-Claude, im Besonderen die Verhüllung des Berliner Reichstags von 1995. Durch die intendierte Wiederholung der Arbeit an anderer Stelle, in einem komplett anders besetzten kulturellen und politischen Kontext, ergibt sich eine Bedeutungsverschiebung der geklauten Projektidee.
The work '‘PROPOSAL FOR A WRAPPED AZADI TOWER’ contains of a visualized proposal for the wrapping of the Azadi Tower in Tehran and a letter concetizising the project. The request, that was sent to the iranian 'Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance' as a nomination for an arts in public space project, unsolicitedly, but obviously, referes to the wrapping actions oft artist couple Christo & Jeanne-Claude, in particular to the wrapping of the Berlin Reichstag in 1995. Through the intended repetition of the work in a different location, within a differently assigned cultural and political context, a shifting of relevance occurs to the stolen project concept.
