Die Arbeit “Miss Atomic Bomb” steht in direkter Referenz zu US-Propaganda-Photographien aus den 50er Jahren. In diesen Photographien posieren Frauen mit verschiedenen nuklearen Accessoires. Als neue
‘Miss Atomic Bomb’ collagiere ich in der Arbeit diese Elemente und Versatzstücke und stelle in einem kontemporären Kontext verschobene Bezüge her. Das Posing ruft eine vergangen Position in der Atomfrage in Erinnerung und wirft so ein anderes Licht auf die aktuelle Auseinandersetzung und die fortwährende Debatte um Irans Atomprogramm, die fast unweigerlich durch meine Selbstinszenierung als ‘Miss Atomic Bomb: Anahita Razmi’ tangiert wird.
The work “Miss Atomic Bomb” directly references a series of US propaganda photographs of the 50ties. In these photographs, women are posing with different nuclear accessories. As a new ‘Miss Atomic Bomb’ I am collaging these elements and set pieces in a contemporary context that is establishing shifted relations. The posing commemorates a past position within the nuclear issue and sheds a different light on the present discussion and the ongoing debate about Iran’s nuclear programme, that almost inevitably is tangent to my rendition as ‘Miss Atomic Bomb: Anahita Razmi’.
