Die Arbeit Robberies bezieht sich auf verschiedene Filmszenen von Überfällen. Eine Pistole tragend, spreche ich den exakten Scripttext des Räubers nach. Die Pistole hat dabei als gegenüber die Kamera, der Text wird aus dem Filmkontext isoliert. Der emotionale Ereignischarakter des Überfalls im Film verwandelt in sich in wiederholende lapidare Handlung und Monolog. In einer kreisförmigen Anordnung von fünf Fernsehern in der Installation, wird der Betrachter von den Figuren umstellt. Videosequenzen und die Pausen zwischen ihnen ordnen sich neu im Versatz der sich loopenden unterschiedlich langen VideoDVDs und ergeben so zufällige Gegenüberstellungen und Reihungen innerhalb des Pentagons.
The video installation refers to various hollywood movie sequences of robberies. At the point of the pistol I am repeating the exact script text of the robber. The counterpart of the pistol is the camera, the text is isolated from the movie context. The emotional action character of the movie robbery is being transformed in an ever repeating lapidary act of monologue. Arranged in a circle of five montors within the installation, the viewer is surrounded by the speaking figures. Video sequences and the breaks in between them are rearranging themselves through displacement of the looping videoDvds and are producing coincidental confrontations and sequences within the pentagon.
